A bit of book blogging existentialism

So I've been looking back at my efforts at book blogging, and I seem to notice that, regardless of what posts I do, or how frequently I do them, they don't seem to have much impact on the overall traffic on the blog, or attract much in the way of comments. (Although, being the internet, I guess a lack of comments is better than certain types of comments.)


I know most of us do it for the fun, but have you ever found yourself thinking: Is there a point of me going through all this effort, if no-one but me cares about this? After the novelty factor wares off and the fun fizzles out, what keeps a book blog running?
