Okay, so this has been bothering me for a while, but why is this book so... detached? Is it because I haven't read dystopias in a while? Or has someone else noticing this?
I'm reading about Cecily and I know I should feel some distress and tension, but the narration is so surgical and tell-y, I can't. I just... I just can't.
